The Guitar Player

The sun dips down the horizon,
painting the sky rose-quartz.
Amidst a tangle of pedestrians,
the man sits at
a dusty corner of the street,
cradling his guitar.

Ripples skim down his shirt
in between notes,
as his heart tries to catch up
with his callused fingers.
